Our story

SOUTS was born in Montevideo in 2025 as VAPAI Studio — a team of filmmakers and technologists producing AI-driven work for brands. Within months we went all-in on what we cared about most: original IP and world-building at scale, and rebranded as SOUTS (Side Out Sticks).

Today we produce fiction with AI for international clients — including series work for the US market — alongside branded content for companies like Grupo Bimbo and Carrasco International Airport. We also organize Sticks n’ Festival, our creative AI film festival in Montevideo: its first edition screened 15 shorts selected from more than 1,400 submissions from 91 countries. We think of SOUTS as an IP factory — a studio where technology, story worlds and community compound.
